About Urban Freestyle Soccer:

First of all, just because Urban Freestyle Soccer has soccer in the title, dont think this bears any relation to Pro Evo or FIFA. Okay, so its still about kicking a footy into a goal, but Vanessa Feltz and Rachel Stevens are both female, but you wouldnt touch the Fat Camp gomper with your mates lo-fat meat and two veg.
This is a totally different type of game. Think NBA and NFL Street with fewer Americans, and rules that dont exactly take a university degree to understand.
Games take place on scabby scraps of tarmac under motorway flyovers and in between ghetto hi-rises. Each team has four players, and goals are fashioned from scaffolding posts, garage doors and everyones old school favourite - folded up jumpers.
Yellow Card
Its simple football, and a simple football game. The ball sticks to your trainers like stepped-in dog turd, and single button presses pass and shoot. The hook is the array of crazy tricks you can perform with the pigskin. Remember those Nike adverts in the cage with Edgar Davids and his mates pissing around? Like that.

Unfortunately, after youve seen these moves a few times, theyve got about as much punch as diarrhoea in a paper bag. You know how cool it feels pulling off one of those over-the-head flicks in Pro Evo? Its cool because it takes skill and doesnt happen very often, but Urban Freestyle jams so many tricks down your throat they soon get boring.

Red Card
Worse than that, Urban Freestyle Soccer isnt fun to play. There are only ten teams, the camera angles are atrocious and the frustratingly simple gameplay gets dull well before injury time.

And though it tries its hardest, UF is not cool. This is a perfect example of what patronising marketing executives reckon you like - thats why theres ateam of skaters, a team of graffiti artists, a team of rappers from da hood and so on. Hey, if they cover all their bases you must be able to relate to at least one stereotype, right?

Dont be fooled. Urban Freestyle is hugely disappointing and the attitude it offers is embarrassing. Kick it into touch.
